The CON-SNP Initiative

MISSION STATEMENT

The SNP initiative serves as the conduit through which new Canadian obesity professionals can connect across disciplines for the advancement of obesity education, research, treatment and management.

VISION

Area 1: Community

Goal: To build a cohesive community among future obesity professionals.
Objective: To promote the development of a network by providing a medium for communication between SNP's.

Area 2: Research

Goal: To promote and facilitate interdisciplinary obesity research across Canada.
Objective: To encourage interdisciplinary approaches to obesity research.

Area 3: Education

Goal: To increase the breadth of knowledge and expertise among future obesity professionals in Canada.
Objective: To provide an environment of sharing and knowledge transfer and to support SNP's via workshops and training events.

Area 4: Knowledge Transfer

Goal: To educate and increase general public awareness regarding all aspects of obesity.
Objective: To promote advocacy of obesity and to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from university to community level, both on a national and international stage.
