ACCELERATE Canada Internship Program
ACCELERATE Canada
, Canada's
Graduate Internship Program, connects Canadian companies with the high-quality
expertise within the country's universities.
What the program
offers to the Canadian Obesity Network's researchers:
-
Opportunities for new research collaborations with industry - A novel
training experience and enhanced career opportunities for grad students and
postdocs - A unique way to establish a new collaboration with a minimal
investment of time and resources - Funding for graduate students and
postdocs
How it works:
- Graduate student interns
spend 50% of their time over four months on site with a partner, researching an
issue of interest to all parties - The balance of the intern's time is spent
at their home university, further advancing the research under the guidance of a
faculty supervisor - The partner's contribution of $7,500 for the four-month
internship is matched by MITACS, resulting in a $15,000 research grant to the
intern's supervising professor - The intern receives a minimum of $10,000 for
the four-month period, with the remaining $5,000 towards additional costs
associated with the internship.
